Aryan I. Roest Memorial Scholarship Endowment
The Aryan I. Roest Memorial Scholarship Endowment was established in memory of Aryan who had a teaching career that spanned 40 years at Cal Poly’s Biological Sciences Department. He was instrumental in establishing a degree in ecology and systematic biology as well as a graduate program in biological sciences and the college’s vertebrate animal collection and natural history museum. This scholarship supports graduate students who are studying environmental and conservation biology and have contributed to the study of native species, environmental protection, and conservation.
